NOFX Bassist Robbed
NOFX bassist Fat Mike is getting past a recent mugging. The musician says via the band's website that he was robbed during the group's tour of South America. He explains, quote, "If there was ever a good way to get mugged, I found it. Yeah, no one wants to get robbed, but if you do, I can't think of a better way." He explains that he was in Argentina walking the streets of Buenos Aires early in the morning looking for a bar when he stopped to text a cameraman from the band's tour. As he pressed send, a guy on a bike "accidentally" knocked the phone from his hand. Mike recalls, quote, "He doesn't stop and my iPhone isn't on the ground. I look to my right and there he is, holding my phone." He says he then realized, quote, "Wow! I've been robbed!."
But the rocker adds that he was impressed with the incident, noting that during the robbery there was no violence, no trauma, and no chance he was going to be able to run after the guy and catch him. Mike says he also lost some money that he had stuffed in the phone case, and admits the phone was full of photos he's hoping won't be made public. |
