Shins' Mercer, Danger Mouse Find Harmony With Broken Bells
The Shins' James Mercer and Danger Mouse may not be an obvious collaboration, but they're happy with their results as Broken Bells. Danger Mouse tells ChartAttack.com that the album came together naturally. He explains, quote, "We didn't go into the studio thinking, 'We're going to make this kind of record.' It was definitely more of us just going around and seeing what felt right. We went in without any songs, we just went in, discussed and within an hour or so we had the skeleton of our first song." The producer says that thanks to the rapid pace of creating their first track, it helped everyone relax and the experience was an enjoyable one. Broken Bells self-titled debut is due March 9th. |
