Franz Ferdinand Frontman Denies Plans To Write A Musical
Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos may have an idea for a musical, but the vocalist isn't planning to act on it. The singer hinted at his idea during an interview with Australia's "Triple J," but he now says in a Twitter posting, quote, "I'm not writing a bloody musical. I was talking about an idea I had for one. Doesn't mean I'm going to write it." In another tweet Kapranos adds, quote, "I had an idea for a Sit-Com in a Russian abattoir. I'm not writing that either. Or the Sci-Fi movie script "Time Bin.""
Kapranos recently told the Australian radio outlet that he had an idea he thought, quote, "would make an amazing musical." He gave a vague explanation, noting, quote, "The thing is, what would make a great musical would be to pick a contemporary figure, like somebody from either current times of the last ten years. Somebody who's had a big impact and write about them." Kapranos also said he had a celebrity in mind for a subject. He wouldn't name the person, but offered that it wasn't a musician. |
