Nigel Lythgoe Says "American Idol" Judges' Seats Still Open
Returning "American Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe says all the judges' seats on the Fox show are still open, but adds that fans should expect to see a new face. Eonline.com quotes Lythgoe who says, "The thing is, we don't look at replacing. Simon [Cowell] is a caustic Brit, so don't look for a caustic Brit. Look for somebody else. It's not about typecasting." The producer also says he hopes to announce the new panel of "Idol" judges "within the next month." Several famous names have been thrown around as possible replacements for outgoing judge Cowell. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, pop star Jennifer Lopez, and even crooner Harry Connick Jr. have been rumored to be taking a seat at the "Idol" judges table for the show's tenth season on Fox. |
