Report: Bob Dylan's "Brownsville Girl" Headed To Big Screen
There are reports that a film version of a Bob Dylan song is on its way to the big screen. Music blog TwentyFourBit reports that an adaptation of Dylan's "Brownsville Girl" is in the works. Jay Cocks -- known for his work on "Gangs of New York" and "The Age Of Innocence" -- is crafting a screenplay based on the eleven-minute track. Rumored to direct the project is "Crazy Heart" filmmaker Scott Cooper. "Brownsville Girl" has had ties to the movie industry since its inception. Actor/writer Sam Shepard helped pen the song with Dylan for 1986's "Knocked Out Loaded."
"Brownsville Girl's" lyrics feature a man singing to a lover while recalling the plot of a Western movie he once saw. The track got mixed reviews upon its release. |
