Superstar DJs Share "Love" Over Deadly Concert
Music festivals are usually a place for unity, and three DJs are feeling a bond long after last month's tragic Love Parade event. DJs Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren are teaming up for a new single in honor of the 21 people who died at Germany's Love Parade in a crowd crush tragedy. Recording under the name DJs United, the trio will release "Remember Love" on September 11th, with sales proceeds going to those injured and to the families of those who died at the music event. Oakenfold told "The BBC," quote, "I just thought we should do something to help them. In many other music genres, artists come together. I think this is the first time this has ever been done in the dance scene, to give back, to help people."
The proceeds will be distributed through the Association For Non-Statutory Welfare in North Rhine-Westphalia Germany. |
