Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame Foundation Announces McCartney Honor
The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation is announcing its induction of a former Beatle. The foundation celebrated Sir Paul McCartney with an honorary induction into its Hall of Fame when the rocker was on tour in Nashville, Tennessee this summer. Sir Paul reportedly received his honor just minutes prior to his live performance at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on July 26th. Roger Murrah, Board Chairman of the foundation, cited McCartney's influence on all musical genres as one of the reasons for his induction. Murrah commented, quote, "Creative exchanges constantly occur between music genres from around the world. In this way, Nashville songwriters have influenced Paul and, with his amazing body of work, Paul has certainly influenced Nashville songwriters." Regarding McCartney's reaction to his award, Murrah said, quote, "Paul was warm, gracious and visibly moved by the honor."
In related news, the honors keep coming for Sir Paul. He's also among the newly-announced honorees at the 33rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors. McCartney and his fellow inductees will be feted in Washington DC this December. |
