Rosanne Cash, Ryan Bingham, Patty Griffin Set For Americana Awards
Rosanne Cash, Ryan Bingham, and Patty Griffin are set to perform at the 9th Annual Americana Honors and Awards ceremony, taking place tonight at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. They're also among the nominees. Bingham and Griffin are three-time nominees heading into the ceremony, while Cash is up for Album of the Year with her most recent effort, "The List." Special honorees include Mary Chapin Carpenter, who will receive the 2010 Spirit of Americana award; and John Mellencamp, who's been tapped for the 2010 Lifetime Achievement for Songwriting. Other stars slated for the show include The Courtyard Hounds -- Emily Robison and Martie Maguire, Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris, along with Will Kimbrough, Sam Bush, Lucinda Williams, Wanda Jackson, and others. Jim Lauderdale will be on hand to serve as the host for the ceremony. The 9th Annual Americana Honors and Awards event is part of the 11th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference, which began Wednesday and continues through Sunday in Nashville.
