Mellencamp To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award Tonight
He started out as a rocker named "Cougar," but it's John Mellencamp who's being honored tonight for his contributions to Americana. Mellencamp is among the notables who will receive a 2010 Americana Lifetime Achievement Award this evening in Nashville. The 58-year-old is scheduled to be there in person to pick up his honor at the American Music Association Awards at the Ryman Auditorium. Mellencamp's fellow honorees include Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson, Luke Lewis -- Chairman of Universal Music Group Nashville, session guitarist Greg Leisz, and producer Brian Ahern.
Next month, Mellencamp's back on tour. Among the big dates on the rocker's itinerary is Farm Aid 25 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 2nd. |
